A quieter colourway of our everyday tote, woven in a fine mauve and cream herringbone that reads as a warm neutral from any distance. Full width zip, cotton webbing handles, interior slip pocket, hemp label stitched at the front.
Herringbone takes more setup on the loom than a plain weave and roughly a third longer to run, which is the reason the cloth has the density it does.

About the hemp
Nepali hemp grows in the hills without irrigation, fertiliser or pesticide. It is cut, retted in river water, stripped, spun by hand and woven on treadle looms. The cloth starts stiff and turns soft and supple after a season of use, and it resists mildew and abrasion far better than cotton.
